The annual charity beauty pageant is here with us again! Mr. and Miss USIU-Africa 2017 is one of the highest attended events after Culture Week. The event is so popular in the USIU community that alumni flock the event in large numbers. Last year, the event was branded as an anticlimactic letdown as the audience favorites were left out and the latter were picked. Nevertheless, the event went well and this year is no exception.
The first buildup to the event is the pre-judging that takes place this Thursday November 2nd at the auditorium. The event will feature 22 contestants who will battle it out for the next and final round which take place later. The contestants will be expected to showcase their talents and walk down the runway in a bid to impress the audience and the judges and prove that they deserve to go the next round. This stage usually has interesting performances and you do not want to miss this.
Out of the 22 contestants, only 16 will be picked so brace yourselves for 6 heartbreaks. The event starts at 6 o’clock and the charges are Ksh 200 for students and Ksh 600 for non-students.
This year’s proceeds will go to towards building of two classrooms for Al Tawoon Education Center based in Korogocho.
